When there are a number of small groups of people in a room, like in a restaurant, they often find it hard to talk. This is basically a problem of background noise and it can usually be solved with the use of absorption. As people feel the need to talk louder to be heard over the echoes caused by the reflective walls, the overall sound level rises. This in turn makes them feel the need to talk even louder to be heard. Of course this is a vicious circle which needs to be interrupted at the source. The source is the reflective walls and ceiling and applying suitable absorption to them will greatly reduce the problem. |
